How to read these lines

We never add the four lines into one total. A buyback is not a trade between collectors, and adding them up would make the market look several times bigger than it is. Buybacks sit on their own line and are never counted as suspect volume. Pack spending comes from public platform revenue data. How we read it: methodology.

Spent on packs
Money buyers paid to open packs. Each pack gives one graded card, picked at random.
Bought back by the platform
Cards sold straight back to the platform right after the pack was opened. This is the pack game, not a market.
Kept by buyers
The value of pulled cards that buyers held on to. It is the money spent on packs minus the buybacks.
Sold between users
Sales from one collector to another on the platform’s marketplace. This is the real resale market.
